Good gel for natural hair?

I just did my big chop and have about 3 inches of hair. I need a gel that will hold my 4a/b/c hair type. Do you think the organic root stimulator lock and twist gel will hold...people have said it leaves your hair so soft that your hair doesn't hold. I need a gel that had good ingredients but has a good hold.
